04.11.2022

With just three weeks to go until the Phaidracon2022 event. We are proud to announce an incredible line-up for our first online roundtable session on November 22, 2022

The theme for this year's first roundtable:

There is already widespread agreement on the vital role of standards in promoting data sharing, both between and beyond research projects. This roundtable aims to go beyond the rhetoric: we will look at what researchers themselves need from standards; before moving on to exploring some practicalities. , important considerations and achievable first steps for new research projects.

Joining us to explore the topic will be three of the most influential thinkers in the space:

After inspiring us with his recent paper [https://www.nature.com/articles/s41597-022-01428-w] in the journal Nature, we are delighted that we will now be joined for the debate by Devan Ray Donaldson, Associate Professor at Indiana University.

With a wealth of experience on standards from his role in creating and maintaining the Oxford Common File Layout (OCFL), Neil Jefferies will be joining us from the University of Oxford’s Bodleian Library.

While, from Frankfurt University, Lecturer in Art History, Fani Gargova, joins the roundtable bringing her project experience on expanding the accessibility and visibility of architectural and art historical documentary material through exhibitions and digital humanities projects.

This promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking session – one not to be missed.
