Fedora Community Update
The Fedora community is not unfamiliar with challenge, change and rebuilding. Fedora's path from the original days of Fedora to today is not straight, nor has it been without its detours and hiccups. But today the Fedora community feels a keen sense of accomplishment as they begin to see adoption rates of Fedora 6.x rise and migration efforts underway. They are hopeful for their future and are taking the necessary steps to engage users, both current and future, to understand how they can support those working with older technologies and bring everyone forward to the newest, most modern version of Fedora. This presentation provides an overview of current community activities, development efforts and plans for the future as they relate directly to the PHAIDRA community. Dan shares some of the challenges Fedora has faced, and shows what they learned in the process.

Understanding OER Requirements Across All Stakeholders When Working With OER Infrastructure, e.g., Repositories
During this presentation, you will discover the importance of Open Educational Resources (OER) and the need for institutional anchoring and infrastructure development to ensure their availability and adoption in higher education. You will also get an opportunity to explore the diverse requirements and perspectives on OER from different stakeholders when working with OER infrastructure – such as repositories, e.g. PHAIDRA. Delivered from the interdisciplinary perspective at the interface of e-learning centres, central IT, education support services, and libraries in the context of Open Education!

DABAR: Croatia's National Infrastructure for Digital Repositories
In 2015, SRCE launched Croatia’s national infrastructure for digital repositories, DABAR, which initially supported the storage and dissemination of student theses. Today, DABAR accommodates 16 different types of digital objects, including various publications, student papers, research data, and educational and artistic content. It is currently used by 167 institutions within Croatia's science and higher education system for institutional and thematic repositories, and it is integrated with relevant national information systems. Built on the open-source Islandora framework, DABAR has become a crucial part of Croatia's digital landscape. During this presentation, we will reflect on our journey - emphasizing both our successes and areas for improvement.

Open Science Trails : Improving Digital Research Data Management: The OSTrails Project
Currently, the management of research data is often fragmented and inefficient. More effectively linking Scientific Knowledge Graphs (SKGs) with machine-readable Data Management Plans (DMPs) and FAIR metrics can help ensure data quality and reusability. Libraries can also play an important role in this process. The EU-funded Open Science Trails (OSTrails) project collaborates with 40 partners and 23 national and thematic pilots to (i) develop DMPs into dynamic, machine-readable resources, (ii) link scientific outputs through knowledge graphs, and (iii) evaluate the FAIRness of data. The 15 national and 8 thematic pilots ensure that the solutions are robust, practical, and aligned with the needs of the research community.

3D Digitisation as a Tool for Object Preservation and Presentation
3D Digitisation plays a crucial role in the conservation of objects - especially sensitive glass objects such as the glass models of marine invertebrates in the Zoological Collection of the University of Vienna, which were created by Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka in the late 1880s. Glass is a fragile material that can easily be damaged by external influences. This makes it difficult or even impossible to exhibit glass objects permanently or even temporarily. 3D-Digitisation (photogrammetry and high-resolution 360° photography) is a valuable method for both: conserving delicate glass objects and making them more accessible. By using 3D digital copies, the risk of physical damage to the original objects is minimised. At the same time, digitisation enables a deeper analysis, documentation and interaction with these valuable cultural objects. The lecture presents the importance of 3D digitisation as a strategy for the documentation and presentation of highly sensitive objects using the example of the Blaschka models, as well as the aspect of archiving and visualisation of the digital files.

The Role of Data Management in the Digital Transformation
Digital media and data-driven work have transformed the way we gather information and think. It is becoming increasingly important to know the origin of the data and to be able to assess its quality. High-quality data is a valuable resource, yet without proper data management, its value may remain unrecognized - or worse, the data itself could be lost in a “data graveyard.” Effective data management is a continuous, data-centered process, adapting to both the specific needs of the data and evolving knowledge requirements. The challenge lies in our inability to capture all data comprehensively and anticipate every emerging need, underscoring the dynamic nature of data management.
