Towards 'A FAIR-enabling Citation Model for Cultural Heritage Objects'
Data citation plays a crucial role in Open Science, especially in diverse domains like cultural heritage. With its inherently interdisciplinary nature, establishing a robust methodology for data citation becomes essential. This methodology not only aids in identification and attribution but also fosters integration across disciplines. The ongoing project “A FAIR-enabling citation model for Cultural Heritage Objects”, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 program, aims to design a sustainable and FAIR-enabled citation model for cultural heritage objects (CHO), emphasizing the multidimensional nature of citation within this context. Supported by EOSC Future and the Research Data Alliance, this project engages in a series of activities to develop and assess its citation model, leveraging specific case studies.

The "Media Library Contemporary History Online" : An Use Case at the Vienna University Library
A part of the collection of audiovisual media (all DVDs) of the Contemporary History Library has been catalogued and can now be found and in many cases directly accessed in the Media Library Contemporary History Online. During the realisation of this project, various technical challenges had to be met, such as the import of metadata from the Alma library system to Phaidra. Since the media collection largely consists of copyright-protected materials, legal problems had to be addressed, too. Currently, around 900 DVDs are available for download. In the future, various analogue audiovisual media of the library collection will continue to be incorporated. The long-term goal of this project is to make all of the library's AV holdings accessible online in the Media Library Contemporary History Online and, as much as legal restrictions allow, to make them available for download as well.

Library Papers and Collections at the Department of Contemporary History: Modelling and Description
The Department of Contemporary History at the University of Vienna hosts a large collection of private papers, correspondences and newspaper extracts mainly from 20th century Austria. An ongoing project aims for the adequate description, storage, processing and publication of these diverse materials (in accordance with their differing legal status). This intention is reflected in a workflow which starts at automated text recognition with Transkribus, goes through exploration experiments in natural language processing and machine-learning, and ends with the issue of sustainable storage (PHAIDRA) and web interfaces apt for the purpose. The talk will present a first sketch of this workflow which is supposed to serve as orientation for future similar endeavours.
